NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) encompasses a comprehensive approach to managing and reducing cybersecurity risks through the NIST CSF. The CSF v1.1 is built around five core functions: Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, and Recover, which provide a structured methodology for organizations to enhance their cybersecurity posture. CSF v2.0 introduces a sixth core function, Governance. Key components include NIST SP 800-12 for information security principles, NIST SP 800-53 for security and privacy controls, and NIST SP 800-171 for protecting controlled unclassified information. Additionally, the Risk Management Framework (RMF) integrates these guidelines to ensure a holistic and resilient cybersecurity program. By leveraging these resources, organizations can effectively manage cybersecurity risks and comply with federal requirements.
